Newhaven is a working port, with many tourist attractions that all types of people can get involved in. This small industrial town has great nautical and fishing heritage that it's locals are proud off. Newhaven has been a base for fishing fleets & families for many years. Newhaven Fort

The Fort was built in the 1860's and has ramparts, guns and other original features which provide an exciting view of England's wartime past. Thanks to recent renovation, the fort is an enjoyable family destination. Situated on Castle Hill, close to and overlooking the marina.

Newhaven Fort

Castle Hill Nature Reserve

On the cliffs adjacent to Newhaven Fort and close to the marina, this nature reserve is a site of special scientific interest and offers one of the best views of Newhaven and Seaford Head. The chalk grassland has a multitude of plant life and birdlife including the rare dartford warbler and peregrine falcon.

Ouse Estuary Nature Reserve

An exciting new open space on land to the east of the town, consisting of natural marshland and reedbeds at the mouth of the River Ouse. The reserve has a nationally important colony of great crested newts, a protected species.
