Potential debris floating in the vicinity of Sovereign Harbour

Notice is hereby given that the following the recent fire on Eastbourne Pier, floating debris may exist in the general vicinity of Sovereign Harbour.

All mariners are urged to keep a look out for floating timber or other items and report all sightings to Sovereign Harbour.

Mariners may contact ‘SOVEREIGN HARBOUR’ on VHF Channel 17 for advice

NOTICE TO MARINERS No.10 – 2014

Dredging Campaign July 2014 Newhaven Harbour

Notice is hereby given that Maintenance Dredging Operations will commence on or around Tuesday 29th July 2014 of the Outer and Inner Harbour, and will continue for approximately 3 days.

The dredging campaign will be carried out by the Trailer Suction Dredger “SOSPAN DAU”, which will exhibit lights and shapes in accordance with the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea.

Masters and others in charge of craft are warned to navigate with caution and pay strict attention to instructions issued to them by Newhaven Port Control. Call sign “Newhaven Radio” – VHF Channel 12. Tel. 01273 612926.

BRIGHTON MARINA – REVISED MINIMUM DEPTH – FAIRWAYS AND BERTHS

The Marina Entrance is dredged to 2m below chart datum.

Mariners are advised that recent depth estimations within the Marina fairways & berths indicate the dredged channels to be 0.5m or less below CD

Vessels with a draft in excess of 1 metre are advised to call the marina office for berthing advice.
