Positioning of Semi-Submersible Pipe in Newhaven Western Bight.

Mariners are advised that a 460m length of steel pipe will be arriving in Newhaven on Friday 24th September 2010 for temporary storage within the Bight and alongside the West Breakwater. It is not yet known how long the pipe will remain here.
The pipe will be anchored into position and marked with lit yellow Special marks.
The pipe will initially be floating, but at some stage will be flooded and sunk onto the riverbed. It will at all times be secured with anchors and marked with buoys.
Masters and users of small craft are warned to avoid navigating into the area.

Diving and Demolition Works at North Quay Newhaven

Mariners are advised that the Diving Support Vessel Valkyre will be operating with divers in the vicinity of North Quay No.5 Berth (Incinerator) during the week commencing Monday 6th September 2010.

The abstraction cage situated at the north end of the berth is being decomissioned and removed from the river along with all associated infrastructure. These works will be carried out by the vessel Valkyrie and shoreside support cranes.

Mariners are to navigate with extreme caution whilst in the area and obey all instructions given by the dive support vessel and Newhaven Radio on VHF Channel 12.
