Private Charter Required Р Sailing Yacht РBareboat or Skippered
I am looking for a yacht to charter, to leave in the evening of April 1st 2010, and sail to Le Havre, and then back if required!
We are doing a sponsored charity trip down the greenwich meridian by bicycle and sail, to Spain, thus 0 emissions and 0 degrees (double zero…) so we need to leave from the closest Marina to the 0 degree line, which is Newhaven… and sail to Le Havre (closest french Marina to the Greenwich Meridien), from where we will cycle due south. My friend Tim Steel (A professional skipper and Ocean Yachtmaster) has offered to skipper there, taking me and a couple of others across (I am also experienced and qualified but not quite to his level), and then take the boat back. However we would also be very happy if the owner of the yacht wanted to skipper us, take their own friends, stay in Le Havre for a while etc.. the only aim is to gain passage south across the channel using no emissions!
So if your boat is lying idle that weekend, please consider that it would help us out greatly (our worse alternative is to charter from Chichester and sail to Newhaven to pick up the cyclists), make money for charity (saving rainforests in perpetuity), and make money for you!
Please can you let me know if you are at all interested by either email or my mobile number, below,
Thank you very much,
